Coffee Blends vs Single Origin

Coffee Blends vs Single Origin

You may have heard the term single origin beans and coffee blends. As the name suggests single origin beans come from one particular place and country such as Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya or Papua New Guinea. So if a coffee bag says single origin, all the beans in that bag comes from one region. Each region that produces coffee has its own distinct flavour. For example coffee beans from South American countries have strong coffee flavours, whilst coffee beans from Africa have more fruity flavours.

In contrast, coffee blends will have a mix of coffee beans from various regions. By having coffee beans from different countries, this allows the roaster to create a unique flavour. For example our Signature Classic blend with coffee beans from Brazil, Guatemala and Colombia help us to create a signature blend that is strong with bold flavours. Whilst our Motown blend with coffee beans from Columbia and Ethiopia assist to create a flavour that is balanced with notes of chocolate.

So next time you try one of our coffee blends, see if you can pick out the mix of flavours in your coffee. It is this unique mix of gourmet coffee beans from different regions that makes our coffee original and distinct.
